วันที่ 14 พฤษภาคม 2569 ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ธาตรี คำแหง คณบดีคณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มอบหมายให้ อ.พงศ์เทพ แก้วเสถียร ผอ.ศูนย์บริการวิชาการและเครือข่ายชุมชนท้องถิ่น
คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสุราษฎร์ธานี
ร่วมกับเทศบาลตำบลขุนทะเล สำนักงานประมงจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี และกลุ่มประมงพื้นบ้านเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวเชิงอนุรักษ์บึงขุนทะเล
จัดกิจกรรม ปล่อยพันธุ์กุ้งก้ามกราม จำนวน 1,000,000 ตัว 
เพื่ออุทิศถวายเป็นพระกุศลแด่
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง
กิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานภาครัฐ สถาบันการศึกษา และชุมชนท้องถิ่น ในการบริหารจัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างยั่งยืน พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำในแหล่งน้ำธรรมชาติ อันจะนำไปสู่การสร้างความสมดุลของระบบนิเวศ และการเพิ่มรายได้ให้กับชุมชนในระยะยาว

Giant Freshwater Prawns to Restore the Ecosystem of Khun Thale Swamp
On 14 May 2026, Assistant Professor Thatri Khamhaeng, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and
Social Sciences, assigned Mr. Pongthep Kaewsathian, Director of the Academic Service and Local
Community Network Center, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suratthani Rajabhat
University, to collaborate with Khun Thale Subdistrict Municipality, the Surat Thani Provincial
Fisheries Office, and the Local Fisheries Group for Ecotourism at Khun Thale Swamp in
organizing an activity to release 1,000,000 giant freshwater prawn juveniles.
The activity was dedicated as a merit-making tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen
Mother.
The objective of this activity was to strengthen cooperation among government agencies, educational institutions, and local communities in sustainably managing natural resources. It also aimed to promote the conervation and restoration of aquatic in natural water sources, leading to ecological balance and increased long-term income opportunities for local communties.
